Support us

We really hope you like the site.

As you will imagine there is quite a lot that goes into keeping it going so if you wanted to contribute to its on-going existence we would certainly welcome it. People can contribute in the following ways:

  1. Submit blog posts for the blog. As with the old WLLG we want to publish as many different views as possible from across local government. If you have a post you’d like to share send it across and provided it isn’t crazy or offensive we’ll put it up.
  2. Share your work with the community. If you have some really good work or a great idea you’d like to share with the local government community then please let us know and we’ll put it on the site for sharing, discussion and comment.
  3. Send us some code. Is there something on the site you think can be improved? Do you know how to do it? If so, please let us know and we’ll happily let you help us make it better.
  4. Suggestion: If you have a suggestion as to how we can do something different or better please let us know. We are very open to new ideas so if you have one please do let us know.
  5. Send us some money: I know that sounds a bit forward so apologies. To be honest we don’t need that much. This site doesn’t need much to keep going and the podcast isn’t that much more expensive. However, everything does cost money so if you wanted to contribute we’d be very grateful.
  6. Advertising / sponsorship. We don’t have any advertising on the site, or podcast, yet but the opportunity is there. If you wanted to advertise on the site or perhaps sponsor the podcast please drop us a line and we’ll happily have a chat about it. Our rates will be eminently reasonable!

Don’t feel like you have to contribute but thank you in advance for any of you that do; we really appreciate it.

About us

Written by Glen Ocsko on . Posted in Uncategorised

We Love Local Government is an independent local government blog, podcast and website for those who work in and around local government.

We want this site to be a resource and community whilst also providing independent commentary, debate and a little fun to the world of local government. We believe that local government has the potential to make a real difference in people’s life and that in general people who work in local government are good people doing a tough job in difficult circumstances. If you disagree with that you probably want to visit a different site.

The website is run by Glen Ocsko (a former local government officer currently working in the private sector) and Gareth Young (a local government officer currently working for a London local authority). There are some brilliant local government related blogs and websites out there, and of course some rubbish ones as well. Some focus on one specific aspect of local government, others take a more general look at things (like ourselves). Here are some links to some of our favourites from across the intertubes.

Just to be clear, we're not affiliated with any of them. Of course, if you happen to run one of these sites and want to talk with us about this you can always contact us...
